For Renewal: The NYU Gallatin Fashion Show ('23), we chose to combine two polar aesthetics: girly and goth. Our collection consists of a variety of girly materials (satins, lace, and glitter, etc.) intertwined with a variety of goth materials (faux leather, distress, chains, etc.). Incorporating colors from both aesthetics, most of our pieces are white, black, and silver with baby pink accents.

All of our materials are sustainable, either recycled fabrics or upcycled thrifted pieces, in order to encourage reusability and repurposing which combats fast-fashion consumerism habits. Most of our original materials were vintage or outdated pieces, so we reinvented them with a modern interpretation in conjunction with our creative vision for this collection.

By bridging the conjunction between the girly and goth aesthetics, we hope to inspire nonconformity and unconventionality in fashion because there should be no constrictions to a particular style or subculture.
